New Orleans: Sound of Drifting Shadows
Aided by the use of brayers, squeegees, and a dark tonal palette, New Orleans: Sound of Drifting Shadows highlights the city’s mundane vignettes, from desolate residential neighborhoods to uncanny industrial landscapes. This exhibition is curated by Mark Cervenka, gallery director and professor of art, O’Kane Gallery at University of Houston-Downtown, and comprised of the most recent nocturnes, as well as monochromatic compositions on canvas from the pre-brayer days.
On view September 7 - October 19, 2023 at O’Kane Gallery, University of Houston-Downtown, 201 Girard Street, Girard Street Building 322, Houston, TX 77002
